I wanted to become a dentist pretty early on in life. My uncle was an orthodontist. I was able to see a lot of aspects of dentistry, and it interested me on how he treated patients, how he was able to interact and be involved in their lives and improve the quality of their oral health.
My favorite part is when a patient comes in, and they’re very anxious, and they say right off the bat, you know, I’ve had a terrible experience coming to the dental office, and I’m nervous being here. And then by the end of the appointment, after we make them comfortable, they say, you know what, that wasn’t too bad. So continuing education is very important, because it keeps me up to date on what’s happening in dentistry.
In the community, we learn from other dentists on the weekends, and we also do in-person courses. So it helps patients’ outcomes by learning from other people in the profession and just staying up to date.
Dr. Ryan Hunter Is Dedicated to Healthy Smiles
Dr. Ryan Hunter is thrilled to be part of the exceptional team at Star City Dental! His mission is to ensure every patient has a positive experience and feels comfortable visiting the office.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Utah Valley University, then completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2020.
After practicing in Utah for a few years, Dr. Hunter relocated to El Paso in 2022, where he has been dedicated to helping patients achieve healthier smiles.
He is a member of the American Dental Association and the El Paso Del Norte Study Club. He regularly participates in study club meetings to stay current with the latest advancements in dentistry. With his certification in CAD/CAM technology, he can offer his patients convenient same-day crowns.
Outside of the office, Dr. Hunter enjoys spending time with his wife of eight years and their three young children. He loves golfing, playing tennis, hiking, reading, traveling, and snowboarding.
